AWARD Categories 2024
As we move into our fourth year we’ve made a few changes and updates to our categories and awards:
All winners will receive a gold statuette at the 2024 awards ceremony. The longlists will be announced a few weeks after submissions close, after that, the nominees will be selected from the longlists. SO, here are the 2024 categories:

We will also be continuing to celebrate filmmakers from the four corners of the United Kingdom; England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with our Regional Categories.
Films submitted to the following ‘Regional Categories' will only be in contention for that category and they will not be in contention for any of the above awards.

The final submittable category is:
𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺
If selected on this year’s longlist you will be asked to prove that your principal crew members (Director, Writer, Producer, Cinematographer, Editor etc) were full-time students at the time of your film production.
Films submitted to 'Student Short Film' will only be in contention for that category.
Each year there will be an Impact and an Icon Award given to people that the jury deem to have had a great influence on the landscape of British short film.
There will be four other honorary awards; an Auteurs Award for a film with exceptional creative value, a Jury Award chosen by the jury, a Founders Award chosen by the founding members of the awards and an Audience Choice Award voted by the public.
